GYROTONIC® exercise has been an incredible experience for me. After years of struggling with pain, I’ve found joy in movement again. I move more easily and freely, I feel happier in my body, and my body has changed in ways I never thought it could. I learn something new every session — it just keeps getting better.

Everyone at the Seattle Changing Room has been wonderful. In particular, Leslie is an absolute genius at seeing what I need next, knowing how to show me what to do, talking through all my questions, making me feel safe and appreciated. She brings humor and compassion to an environment that in other hands could have been scary or intimidating. She creates a place where possibilities become realities.

I never liked exercising at all until I was introduced to Gyrotonic exercise. Now I look forward to my Gyrotonic session as the highpoint of the day.

As a senior citizen I recommend Gyrotonic exercises as ideal for older adults. It is adaptable, enjoyable, and–most importantly–lastingly beneficial, regardless of how long it’s been since you were in the habit of working out.

Gyrotonic exercise has been the perfect complement to all the other activities I do. I enjoy working with my Gyrotonic exercise coach, who I consider to be my partner in this endeavor.

It is odd to say, but because moving this particular way activates muscles and energy systems that my other activities don’t, I feel my brain connections expanding. It is clear that Gyrotonic methodology will be valuable for everybody, no matter if they have been runners, yoga practitioners, dancers or computer potatoes, recovering and rehabilitating from injuries or arthritis. This system is individualized to the needs of each person. It always surprises me, every time, as I’m driving home after my session suddenly a huge sense of well-being sweeps through me. I am so glad Gyrotonic exercise was recommended to me by my daughter-in-law.

I was referred to the Seattle Changing Room by Dr. Judith Lewis for chronic pain issue resulting from a MVA in 1992. Several modalities of treatment were helpful but the effects weren’t as long lasting as I needed. Since doing Gyrotonic work the past two and a half years the changes have been remarkable and the progress continues with each session. It’s been hard work, layer by layer of changes in finding ease of movement and flexibility as well as developing core strength and improved posture.

I could never have envisioned the possibilities and what it feels like to have my body back as part of a whole person, able to move about freely with far less pain which now comes only from extended lengths of time in one position, stress and tension. The gift is having the tools to deal with these situations as they arise and sometimes even prevent them as I incorporate this in daily life. I will be forever  to Dr. Lewis for the referral, and to Leslie and Beth for their wonderful ability to teach and encourage. I would recommend this work for anyone who wishes to feel healthy, stronger and more energetic as well as feeling at one with their bodies.
